For Whop sellers

How to market your Whop and keep new members coming.

People join a paid community because they already trust the person running it. Post useful content every week about what members learn, share proof as it comes, and point people to your Whop page. Postomate writes and publishes those posts for you.

Postomate reads your public Whop page. No Whop login needed.

I've read about 2,000 freelance writing job posts this year. The good ones have 3 things in common:

freelance writers: 3 signs a job post is worth pitching

Why Whop memberships stall.

  1. 1

    Discover is crowded

Whop's Discover page can surface you, but you're listed next to a lot of other communities. Most members join because they already know you.

  2. 2

Members leave, so you need new ones

Every membership loses people. It only grows if new members join faster than old ones cancel, which means posting every week, not just at launch.

  3. 3

People buy access to a person

Nobody joins from a feature list. They join after weeks of seeing how you think and what your members get out of it.

What Postomate posts for a Whop product.

Most posts teach something your buyers want to know. Only a few mention the product, and only once people have a reason to care. Each platform gets posts written for how it works.

Example product on Whop

  1. I've read about 2,000 freelance writing job posts this year. The good ones have 3 things in common:

  2. 1. A named editor, not “the team”.

  3. 2. A rate in the post. If they hide it, it's low.

  4. 3. A clear brief: word count, audience, deadline.

  5. Skip anything missing two of the three.

  6. We share the ones that pass every Monday in my writers' community. Link's on my profile.

The rule: Teaches one thing. The product gets one soft line, in the last post only.

What I check before pitching any job post (after reading hundreds of them)

I go through a lot of job boards for work, and most posts aren't worth a pitch. Three checks save me hours: 1. Is there a named editor? “The team” usually means nobody owns the brief. 2. Is there a rate? Hidden rates are almost always low. 3. Is the brief clear? Word count, audience and deadline. If I have to guess, so will they when they review it. If a post fails two of three, I skip it, no matter how good the brand is. Disclosure: I run a paid community that shares leads that pass these checks, but the checks work on any board.

The rule: A real story that teaches. One disclosed line about the product, never a link.

Last week a writer in our community landed a $1,200 monthly retainer. The lead was one most people skipped: a plain post, no logo, no hype. But it named the editor, listed the rate and had a clear brief. Those three things predict a good client better than any brand name. If you're a freelance writer and want an invite to the community, send me a DM.

The rule: A lesson from your own work. The ask is “comment” or “DM me”, never “buy now”.

The rule: Casual, lowercase, quick. The product is the last line: “in my bio”.

Make your Whop page easy to say yes to.

Posting sends people to your page. These make sure they buy when they get there.

  • Show what members get in week one

“Weekly leads” is vague. “5 vetted leads every Monday, plus one pitch review” is something people can picture.

  • Post proof, with permission

Member wins are the strongest posts you have. Ask before sharing, and share the details: what they did, what happened.

  • Give people a free taste

A free tier, a trial or a public sample of your best post lowers the bar to joining a paid community.

  • Link your Whop page everywhere you post

Bio, pinned post, email signature. When someone decides to join, the link should be one tap away.

Whop questions.

How do I get my first members on Whop?

Post where your future members already hang out, and make most posts genuinely useful on their own. Share what members learn and win, with permission, and keep your Whop link in your bio. First members usually come from people who've followed you for a few weeks.

Will Whop Discover bring me members?

It can help, but don't plan around it. You're listed next to many other communities, and people rarely pay to join one run by a stranger. Your own posts do most of the work.

What does Whop charge per sale?

Whop's fee page lists 2.7% + 30¢ per domestic card payment, with extra for international cards and for optional features you switch on. Check docs.whop.com/fees for your account, since the details change.

How do I promote a paid community without spamming?

Give away real value in public: the kind of tip, lead or breakdown members get. Mention the community in a small share of posts, and on Reddit only as one disclosed line with no link.

Does Postomate work with Whop?

Yes. Paste your Whop product link and Postomate reads the public page to learn who it's for and why people join. You don't connect your Whop account.

What kinds of Whop products does it work for?

Paid communities, memberships, courses, coaching and digital products that solve a clear problem. The clearer the outcome members get, the better the posts.

Paste your Whop link. We’ll handle the posting.

Your first posts are written while you set up. Approve each one, or let it run on autopilot.
